Kitchen Remodel
The Story
The owners of this Landfall home wanted to make the dining room, living room, and an adjacent patio feel closer to their kitchen. To do this, we removed a wall between the kitchen and living room and installed a bulky, tiled post at a new load-bearing point. We also removed a door between the kitchen and dining room and replaced it with a taller and wider cased opening. So that some daily organizational tasks could take place near the new kitchen, a built-in desk was installed with accompanying tack and message-boards, task lighting, data ports for computing, and a phone line.
The homeowners selected a limestone and glass brick-pattern backsplash, new custom cabinetry and a kitchen island with a vegetable sink and 2” thick maple countertop. We installed approximately 800 s.f. of pre-finished Lauzon oak flooring downstairs, and amended other trim details throughout both floors of the home.
