An Energy Story - Case Study
By replacing their existing HVAC system, and installing new insulation in their existing attic space, a family documented a net energy savings after Old School Rebuilders constructed their 540 s.f. master suite addition on Camellia Drive in Forest Hills.

Energy Comparison Chart

Our customers realize energy savings through our use of blown cellulose insulation, low-expansion foam draft-stopping around windows and doors, insulated crawlspace walls, air-sealing of the gaps at the bottom plates of the exterior walls, use of IC-rated recessed lighting, insulating the T’s in the exterior walls before sheathing is attached, use of engineered I-joists in floor systems, substitution of engineered LVL beams for 2x12 sawn lumber, Techshield radiant barrier roof sheathing, and tight seals on new HVAC ducts. Further, we are able to recycle about 90% of our construction waste at the construction and demolition site at the New Hanover County Landfill.
